Deanna's Story

This Christmas and Holiday season, a hardworking mother named Deanna is doing everything she can to keep her family together after an unimaginable loss.

Deanna recently lost her husband, leaving her as a key provider and extra caretaker for five young children, with another baby on the way. With no financial safety net, Deanna and her kids are currently living in a hotel, spending $750–$800 per week just to have a safe place to sleep.

Deanna is not someone who asks for help. She is a devoted mother with a strong work ethic who has spent years working with people with physical and intellectual disabilities — work she truly loves. She is experienced and actively trying to return to full-time work. What’s holding her back right now isn’t effort — it’s the lack of stable housing and the cost of basic survival.

Despite everything, Deanna remains focused on her kids. She doesn’t drink or smoke, and she spends her time either working or caring for her children. Her only goal is to provide a safe, stable life for them and get back on her feet as quickly as possible.
