Today I met a beautiful family in Walmart, Danny & Kassie (Katherine). I approached Danny with my wallet and asked if it was his as an honesty test. Without hesitation, he told the truth that it wasn’t his. To honor his integrity, I gave Danny $1,000, and he began to weep.

That’s when I heard their heartbreaking story.

Danny is battling terminal brain cancer. The medical bills have piled up as they were denied medical assistance, the pressure is overwhelming, and their family is now facing the terrifying reality of becoming homeless because of this diagnosis. They’re trying to hold their family together while walking through unimaginable pain and uncertainty.

And yet, even carrying that weight, Danny still chose honesty.
