Hello, my name is Daniel Madden. The home my brother (Nico), mom (Bernie), and I lived in was lost in the Eaton Canyon fire. My family has been in Altadena 8 years and we are so grateful to have been able to be part of such a special community. On Tuesday at 6:25 p.m., my mom walked into my room warning me of the fire. Soon thereafter, we had mandatory evacuation orders and in less than 12 hours our house burned down. We tried to grab what we could but there was a lot lost in the little bit of time that we had. To make matters worse, my job laid me off about a month ago due to budget cuts, and my brother’s workplace on Lake Avenue, Aldi, was also destroyed in the fire. Thank you again for all of your help. Our community has already been really helpful during this challenging time. We really appreciate everyone's messages and gestures of love.
