My name is Charlene, and I’m reaching out for help after a devastating fire turned my life upside down. Last Sunday, while I was at work, I got a call from Egypt’s dad, who watches her while I’m away. He told me my house was on fire. I rushed home as fast as I could, terrified for my little girl. When I arrived, everything was in flames. The police had Egypt sitting in their car to keep her warm until I got there. It turns out an electrical socket downstairs caught fire, and we lost everything—clothes, shoes, beds, and all the things that made our house a home. I am so grateful that Egypt and her dad made it out safely. That’s the biggest blessing of all, but now we are left with nothing and nowhere to go. We are homeless and starting over from scratch.

I’m raising funds to help us find a new place to live, buy clothes and shoes for Egypt, and get the essentials we need to rebuild our lives. Every little bit will help us get back on our feet.
