Help CDTLF Aneshrie & son, COVID death of Abdullah
On July 13, 2021, our beloved colleague, Aneshrie, suffered the sudden loss of her husband to COVID-19. Aneshrie lives in South Africa where COVID vaccines have not yet been made accessible to individuals under the age of 55. At the time of this writing, Aneshrie continues to battle COVID herself. Her sister is currently in the ICU. All the while, Aneshrie worries for her mother, grieves for her husband, and consoles her 9-year-old son.
Courage is asking for and receiving help without judgment.
Courage is acknowledging that our souls’ lived experiences of suffering are bigger than we are. That we cannot do this alone and our inextricable connection to each other is sacred.
Courage is choosing what is important.
And in courage, we ask for your help and receive it with soul-level gratitude.
Initially, the intent of this fundraising effort was to create a scholarship account to support Aneshrie’s 9-year-old son. But more urgently, it is to support the health expenses Aneshrie faces.
Here is an excerpt from a text Aneshrie sent with her agreement to allow us to set up this GoFundMe "I accept wholeheartedly."
Because South Africa is not a recognized recipient of GoFundMe, funds will be withdrawn by the organizers and forwarded directly to Aneshrie. With many thanks to Caryn Conidaris in South Africa for help coordinating this effort.
These times are bigger than all of us. May our hearts be broken open not apart.
