Summary:
I have received an unconditional offer to study for a Master’s in Accounting and Finance at the University of Greenwich for the 2025/2026 academic year. I’ve already secured a £3,000 Alumni Bursary and a Student Loan, but without raising the final 15% of the tuition fee, I won’t be able to access the loan or begin my studies.

Help Catia Start Her Master’s on Her Birthday ✨
Hello, my name is Catia Loureiro. I was born and raised in Portugal and moved to London 15 years ago with a dream: to grow through education and use it to make a difference in society.
Along the way, I’ve worked hard and persevered. I became a student representative twice, interned in Dublin as Sales Development, Employability Champion, and after graduating with a BA in International Business with Economics, I built a valuable placement year experience in London’s financial sector at Canary Wharf and later in Portugal as a Documentation Matching Analyst.
But in 2024, I lost my job. Returning to London was tough—I found myself caught in the gap of being overqualified for retail jobs but not having “enough” experience for analyst roles.
My confidence crumbled, and I battled depression and social anxiety. For a time (4 months), I was even sofa surfing until I found support through Emmaus Greenwich, where I’ve been 5 months volunteering full-time with £44 weekly allowance.
Despite these challenges, I refused to give up! I sought therapy, reconnected with my faith, rebuilt my skills, and started giving back by supporting my church’s Gospel Pilares - charity: One Sound Charity United Kingdom work—helping organize fairs, coordinating volunteers, and even assisting women coming out of homelessness. Serving others gave me strength and reminded me of the purpose I still carry.
Now, I have been accepted into the University of Greenwich Master’s in Accounting and Finance. I’ve secured a £3,000 alumni bursary and a student loan—but I cannot access the loan unless I raise the final 15% of the tuition fee myself.
My course begins on 16th September, which is also my birthday, and I am determined not to let this opportunity slip away.
I’ve always fought for my dreams alone, but today I’m reaching out for support. With your help, I can begin this next chapter of my education and continue giving back to the community—because everything I learn, I want to pour back into others.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me closer to starting my master’s.
Thank you for believing in me and being part of my journey.
