Help Carissa Little Family-Life Changing Accident
Donation protected
Carissa Little, 19 years old, daughter of John and Cheryl Little, sibling to Zack, Gracie, and Casey, was tragically injured in a semi-truck accident on August 12th. She was life-flighted to Loyola hospital and endured six hours of back surgery to place hardware in her spine for realignment and stabilization. She fractured T8 -T11 of her spine. The damage was extensive; doctors say she will likely never walk again and, sadly, is currently paralyzed from the waist down.
We are reaching out for your help to assist the family with the financial burden they will surely endure, hopefully making their tragic situation less daunting.
To know the Little family is to love them. They are truly genuine, and their outreach to others is well known in the community. Carissa is no different… She is a kind, caring person who loves helping others. And she especially adores her dog, Joey. She had plans to return to a local community college to pursue her passion as a veterinary tech. Many know John from Chesterton High School where he is a custodian and avid sports fan and Cheryl is a medical lab tech at Alverno laboratories in Hammond. All money raised will go directly towards medical and travel expenses and renovations to the Little family home to make it wheelchair accessible. The journey to recovery and rehabilitation will be a long and so much is unknown. Right now, the most significant financial need is the daily travel expenses of gas, food and support for their kids while their parents are going back-and-forth to Loyola hospital to be with Carissa. The Little family needs our help and we need to kindly give them our support…. any help would be so appreciated, no matter the amount! Prayers will go far and we are all praying for a miracle. Carissa is staying strong and hopeful as is the rest of the family and they are just so thankful for her to be alive. Cheryl will continue to provide updates here. On behalf of the Little family, thank you.
