Help Candis with Expenses during Medical Hardship

Hello friends, Our friend Candis White needs your prayers and assistance during this difficult time. Candis worked so hard to start a new career in truck driving, that began when she graduated in February 2023. She was contacted by a major oil company in April and began hauling cement in the oilfield. She was one of only two women on her post. She reported to duty in late June and before her shift began she contracted a bad staph infection in the hotel man-camp sponsored by the company. To this date, they have not acknowledged her request to do an investigation on their unclean rooms and have ignored her request for workers comp.

She was hospitalized for 11 days once transported back to Dallas and unfortunately it got worse from there, due to triggering stress and her having stomach ulcers (ulcerative colitis). While in the ER her skin started opening up on her and she began fighting for her life as lesions opened up on her scalp, back, thighs and buttocks because her immune system attacked itself. Specialist say, her being a vegetarian for many years helped her fight infection off as long as it could, but now her colon and immune system have her weak while still healing the wounds. She is going to be on bed rest for potentially the remainder of the year. Leaving her son to try and care for her financially as well as being her full time care giver (he is only 22). As she is healing internally, She is not out of the woods yet so this is a very hard for time for her, being an active person and knowing that now truck driving is currently out of the question she's left with little to no resources at this time.

I know she is a proud woman and was very proud to call herself a lady TruckHer, but now money has run out due to paying out of pocket for steroids and anti-biotic medication, special bandages and wound care, due to no insurance (new insurance would not have started until August) leaving her to choose between medical care or rent. Also the company has refused to lay her off , or terminate her, making her unable to file for unemployment.
