We are Cabrera Farms, a small family farm in Mount Vernon, WA. Every week, our family works hard to bring fresh produce to farmers markets across Seattle, Bellingham, and our surrounding communities. Unfortunately, on the night of 11/24/2025, our farm experienced a break-in that caused significant damage to several of our essential vehicles.
During the break-in, our vehicles suffered extensive damage that has brought our family farm to a standstill. Our box truck — the main vehicle we rely on to transport our fresh produce — had its catalytic converter sawed out and stolen and its battery taken, with the bolts damaged. Our second van also had its battery stolen, the bolts damaged, and there was an attempt to remove its catalytic converter, which now requires welding. Our third van suffered fuel pump damage after fuel was siphoned out. These vehicles are the lifeline of our farm, and without them, we are unable to bring our produce to the farmers markets that connect us with our community. This unexpected loss has been heartbreaking, making it difficult for us to continue doing the work we love and rely on to support our family.
Along with the vehicle damage, many essential items that help us operate on the farm and at the markets were also taken. These include waterproof and water-resistant sweaters that we rely on for outdoor farm work as well as staying warm during early morning market setups, insulated jackets, water-resistant jumpers, and warm hats — all gear that keeps us protected in cold or wet conditions.
We also had chargers stolen that are used for equipment essential to farmers markets and on-farm production. Losing these items has made an already difficult situation even harder, as these are the small but essential tools that allow our farm to operate and serve our community.
We’re asking for any support, big or small, to help us repair our vehicles, replace the stolen items, and get back on the road.
Any form of support truly helps — whether it’s a donation of any size or simply continuing to support us at the farmers markets we attend, including the Bellingham Farmers Market and the U District Farmers Market. Your kindness and encouragement mean the world to our family farm.
Thank you for taking the time to read, share, and support us during this difficult moment.
