Help bring Yukine back to health!

Hello! My name is Alice and I've been the owner of Yukine, a rescue cat from Myoukou, Japan. I brought him back to Canada in 2018 when he was 6 months old. Today, at 6 years old, he's going through a weird and scary illness.

Yukine is unlike any cat that I've ever had. He's quirky, dumb, and incredibly attached to me. I love him like a human son, and everybody knows it. He's always there in Teams meetings, always ready for a nap cuddled up really tight, always on the lookout for things to push away from my desk to get my attention... He's a little furball of love and the most special cat I've ever owned in my entire life.

Yukine's always had a sensitive stomach, but it never got in the way of him being healthy. However, I noticed recently that he had lost weight and was vomiting more often than usual. Last week, he started to get runny eyes and nose. On Friday, I had to bring him to the Emergency Veterinary Care: he had a 40.3 degree fever and had been tired and apathetic for more than 24 hours. Plus, his abdomen was starting to swell. 1000$ later, we know only very little about his condition... His vitals are good, his blood only indicates inflammation, the echo didn't show any sign of urinary or gastrointestinal blockage... The Emergency Care vet advised to watch his temperature and stay on the lookout for a couple days.

48 hours later, he's still very apathetic. The fever has gone down but his abdomen is still very swelled up and is most likely gonna need x-rays. I'm calling clinics all over Montreal tomorrow to try to have him seen by a regular vet, because I don't see how I could afford x-rays at the Emergency Vet...

Honestly, I'm scared and I'm absolutely not ready for him to leave me yet. I have to make sure he's gonna get through it and that it's not anything other than a pesky virus. Money is tight right now and I know it is for everyone. Even making a decent salary, my student debts are putting me in a rough situation where I finish every month with close to nothing left.
