Help Bring to Life "A SUMMER TO FORGET", a short film
Donation protected
Hello!
My name is Heem, and alongside my creative partner David Miller, I’m diving into a new short film project fueled by our love for community, friendship, and making unforgettable memories. We're all about bringing people together through storytelling—and this next project is shaping up to be something a little weird, a little whimsical, and a whole lot of fun.
THE STORY
A SUMMER TO FORGET is about a tight-knit group of college friends whose carefree camping trip takes a chilling turn when a creature begins hunting them—not for their lives, but for their memories. One by one, they witness each other vanish, only to forget it ever happened. As the fear mounts and reality unravels, they’re left grasping for answers they can’t remember. Even if they make it out alive, they may never know what they escaped—or who they left behind.
WHY THIS FILM?
In a world where horror often mirrors our deepest fears, A SUMMER TO FORGET celebrates everything we love about the genre—the tension, the mystery, the chaos, and the sheer, unapologetic weirdness that comes with it. This isn’t just a scary story—it’s a wild, unsettling, and strangely fun ride through the foggy corners of memory, fear, and friendship.
Born from a love of classic slashers, supernatural thrillers, and the mind-bending nature of psychological horror, this film dares to ask: what happens when the terror isn’t just out there in the woods, but inside your mind—erasing the very people you’re trying to protect? We wanted to take everything that makes horror fun—the jump scares, the dread, the twisted laughs—and mix it with something more surreal and emotional.
This film is a love letter to the genre that raised us—equal parts spooky, stylish, and strange. It's a tribute to sleepovers spent watching horror movies way too late, to storytelling that grips you and won’t let go, and to the idea that even in the scariest moments, there’s room for something unexpected, maybe even a little absurd. With this film, we’re not just telling a creepy tale—we’re throwing a horror party, and everyone’s invited.
INFLUENCES
Inspiration for A SUMMER TO FORGET comes from three wildly different horror classics—Friday the 13th, Sleepaway Camp, and The Ritual—each with its own unique voice and terrifying truth to tell. From Friday the 13th, we draw the visceral thrill of summer camp horror—the isolation, the creeping dread, and the chaos of being hunted in the woods. Sleepaway Camp brings in the off-kilter weirdness, the camp (pun intended), and the way horror can be both shocking and strangely playful. And The Ritual reminds us that the scariest monsters often feed off something internal—grief, guilt, memory—and that the woods can be a place of both reckoning and revelation.
These films prove that horror isn’t one thing—it’s a spectrum. It can be brutal or bizarre, grounded or mythic, grotesque or deeply emotional. With A SUMMER TO FORGET, we aim to live in that intersection—to create something fun, eerie, and full of unexpected heart.

BRING THIS VISION TO LIFE
...now, here's where you come in.
We’re lucky—really lucky—to have an amazing cast and crew made up of close friends and family who believe in this story just as much as we do. Everyone’s coming on board out of passion and love for the project, which means we don’t have to worry about covering salaries. But what we do need is equipment—and that’s where we need your help.
Lights, cameras, sound gear, props, hard drives, batteries... the list adds up fast. We're not working with a studio budget—just a whole lot of creativity, heart, and determination. But even the most passionate indie team can only go so far without the tools to capture the vision properly.
That’s why we’re aiming to raise around $3,500 to cover the essential gear and production costs. Any donation, big or small, helps us secure the tools we need to make this film the way it deserves to be made. You’ll be helping bring a wild, spooky, heartfelt story to life—and becoming part of a filmmaking journey fueled by community, friendship, and a shared love for storytelling.
Check us out and share the vision to help us reach a wider audience! Thank you so much!
