Hi, I am Shari's daughter Bethany. Some of you may or may not know, Shari had an accident on Christmas morning, she missed the bottom steps coming down the stairs to open gifts with our family. She broke both of her legs, her knee, her ankle and 3 ribs. She has had surgery to repair the breaks and is now in a rehab, but it will be months before she will be able to walk again, which means she will be wheelchair bound and care dependent for quite sometime.

At this time she is in a rehab facility, but Medicare has ran out and she is now considered "self-pay" for the rest of the duration of her stay, which could be months. As the medical bills are piling up, we are faced with a greater problem, she will never be able to return to her room upstairs in my home again. So my only alternative is to build a "apartment/nest" for her downstairs. My plan is to do a garage conversion, but we are looking at costs of well over $10,000. We need to make something functional and wheelchair accessible, as well as comfortable for her. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Until we have somewhere for her, she can't come home. She has a long road ahead and needs all the support she can get at this time. Thank you so much.
