Help Bring Hope - support Uganda (Covid-19)
Donation protected
Covid-19 has hit Uganda in a very different way to much of the world. While thankfully the people there have not yet been hit by the rates of infection, critical illness and death that many other nations are so sadly going through, the country has - to protect itself - shut its doors to the world and locked down tightly.
A country heavily dependant on tourism and with rural communities typically surviving on a dollar or two a day, the people of Uganda are now having to get creative about how they find money to feed themselves.
Rising prices are not helping. The cost of salt has tripled, beans and soap have doubled and there is, at the moment no end in sight.
The Ugandan people are survivors. They are used to finding the upside in remarkably challenging situations. I have seen it first hand. But the impacts of Covid are pushing the boundaries (we are all feeling this I know), so I feel compelled to help. So here we are (myself and the Tambula gang), launching 'Help Bring Hope' - to support our friends Eve and Denis, all at Ride 4 a Woman and the community of Buhoma, get food, eat and survive to see the other side of this terrible time...and once again come together and dance!
We fully understand and appreciate that everyone is facing great difficulty right now but if you feel able support this effort, even with the smallest donation it would be greatly appreciated.
In Uganda a little goes a long way:
£10 will buy 10 kilos of beans that will last a family 2 weeks
£20 will feed an average family of six people for one week.
£50 gives a family of up to 8 people maize flour, beans, salt and soap for 2 weeks
Help Bring Hope to the families of Uganda by donating today.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
