Help Brenda Parrish Fight Ovarian Cancer

Donation protected

My name is Sandi Smith and I’ve been asked by several of our friends to set up a go fund me to help ease her burden. For those of you that don’t know Brenda ( my hero) as I refer to her, let me tell you a little about her. Brenda is a Christian mom to three grown children and 7 grandchildren, a sister, cousin, daughter, and one of my best friends. She was an Er nurse for many years prior to her diagnoses , and then worked as a hospice nurse for several years. She has given, loved, and helped her community over the years through nursing as well as her testimony. She has been fighting stage 3 ovarian cancer for 17 years now. No doubt she has been blessed to witness her children become grown adults as well as having grandchildren now. She has been on chemo/ radiation off and on over the last 17 years. This is Brenda’s 9th recurrence. Over the years the ovarian cancer has spread to her small intestines, bladder, ureter, and lymph nodes. This time the cancer has found its way to her pelvis wall. She has fought so hard for so many years now. The current treatment she is receiving is chemo infusion, as well as immunotherapy, and a chemo pill. In the past between her insurance and benefits from charity her treatments was covered in full, but this time she has only been approved for a partial benefit because she draws disability and didn’t qualify for full payment. Each treatment cost is 78,262.00 but after insurance adjustments and payments that leaves her responsible for 3,058.52 for each treatment . She also has been approved to receive partial benefit of 1,000.00 leaving her responsible for 2,058.52 for each treatment , ( which totals 12,351.12) plus she will be responsible for some medication copays, dr visit copays, labs, and travel to and from Birmingham every 3 weeks. Brenda does receive disability of less than 2,000.00 per month which would not be enough to pay bills as well as 2,058.52 every 3 weeks. If you feel led to help ease the burden of her having to worry about coming up with the money to pay for these treatments please consider making a donation. If you are unable to give please remember her in your prayers. I’ll end with her favorite saying! God is good all the time, and all the time God is good! Thank you all in advance! I have also attached a copy of her insurance payment on her first round of treatment. She just received her 2nd round, so 4 more to go , and if those are successful she may get 6 more rounds, but for now we are just trying to raise funds for the 1st 6 treatments.
