Help Baby Chiron Get a Heart Surgery

Hi, I'm Daisy and I'm helping my sister, Leah Casio-Espino in raising funds for her baby to go through a life-saving heart surgery. Please read on and open your hearts to my nephew. Let us give him a strong chance in life.

 

Background:

While on a routine check-up, Leah found out that her baby has a congenital heart disease. It was a tough day for her as she processed the news and how she could save her baby.

Since she was only starting the second trimester, she was committed to know more about the disease and find ways to make sure she is able to deliver the baby at full term. 

For the months following the news, Leah and her husband spoke with doctors and came up with a plan to give their baby a fighting chance. 

The first step is making sure that the baby can survive the birth. With all the technology available, there is still uncertainty on the gravity of the baby's condition as he is still growing everyday. It is still unknown to the doctors on what the clear plan of action is until the baby is delivered.

The second step is to go through surgery as soon as the birth of the baby or a few days after. After the baby is born, the doctors will be able to assess and make their final recommendation.

By the grace of God and unending prayers, on March 17th, Chiron Ezekiel was born. It was a happy day as the family welcomed his arrival. 

Now, on to the second step. 

Chiron Ezekiel, at 4-days old, was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Disease, cyanotic, Transposition of Great Arteries with muscular ventricular septal defect, presenting with cyanosis. The plan of management is to go through open heart under cardio pulmonary bypass (TGA).

He will go through surgery early next week and the family needs to ready almost a million Pesos to fund the surgery in the Philippines.
