Help Autumn Fly to Toulouse, France!

Hello everyone! My name is Autumn Jackson-Hines, an 11th grade student attending Cass Technical High School.
During the last week of February 2024, I received a scholarship for $7,150 to travel to Toulouse, France for 4 weeks in the summer. To earn a large sum of the money needed to travel was a dream come true, and a testament to my academic prosperity.
On this trip, we will learn French language and culture, gaining college credits in the process. This is a huge opportunity for me to broaden my horizons and gain new knowledge.
The issue at hand is that the organization, CIEE, does not award money for flights. This means I must come up with at $2,896.60 by as soon as possible. I understand this is a large sum of money, but it is crucial for my trip there, as the itinerary includes trips from:
Detroit, MI to New York City, NY
New York City, NY to Amsterdam
Amsterdam to Toulouse, France
and back!
I feel as though this opportunity could not only advance my education, but allow myself to become a role model for others. As a black young woman in Detroit, I feel like it’s important for me to take advantage of this opportunity and show our accomplishments.
If the past description was not enough, here are some facts about me!
I have a 4.4 GPA for this year, and a 3.6 for my entire high school career.
I’m a part of the band program, with 3 years in marching band and 2 years in symphonic band. Over the years, I have received awards for my musicality, including a I (Superior) rating at District Solo & Ensemble for a duet in my 10th grade year, a I (Superior) rating at District Solo & Ensemble for a solo (Aria, Eugene Bozzo) in my 11th grade year, and a II (Excellent) rating at State Solo & Ensemble for a solo, sight reading, and scales on March 16th, 2024.
I’m also part of the full IB with diploma program, taking IB Lit & Lang, IB World Civilizations, and IB Theory of Knowledge this year. Not to mention, all A’s in these classes.
Lastly, I’m a member of the National Honor Society, with hopes of being on the board next year!
As you can see, I’m more than qualified for this trip. My only limitation is in the financial aspect, so please donate if you can! Even the smallest amount of money or share can help us!
