My step-sister’s family’s world was turned upside down two weeks before Christmas when a house fire destroyed everything they owned. They lost all their clothes, belongings, and even their sense of safety. To make things even harder, their mom is currently in the ICU, recovering from injuries related to the fire. They have nowhere to live, and every day feels like a struggle to keep going.

As if that wasn’t enough, my step-sister’s husband recently abandoned the family, and the courts have been unable to find him. Now, she is doing her best to care for her two boys on her own—one of whom is autistic—while trying to hold their family together. The challenges feel endless, but she knows she has to keep going for her children and her mom.

We are reaching out for help because they truly have nowhere else to turn. The funds raised will help them find a safe place to stay, replace the essentials they lost, and support their mom’s medical care. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to them.
