Story

Hello, my name is Viv, and I’m a very proud mum of Arwyn Ruby Freeman, my 17-year-old daughter who was accepted in 2025 into the Australian Ballet School Melbourne. This is a dream come true for Arwyn — and a huge honour, as less than a handful of dancers are chosen each year from around the world.

Arwyn has been dancing since she was two years old. Born in Byron bay She has trained in dance and music with exceptional teachers. Arwyn is a triple threat with classical ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, tap and piano. Arwyn has won awards at national and international competitions. But beyond her technique, what makes her truly special is her unconditional kindness to all, and her ability to shine with a sparkle on stage that touches hearts and moves emotions.

Her father David who passed away a few years ago, he was her biggest supporter.  He would often be moved to tears watching her dance. Arwyn now dedicates her performance to him, carrying his love and encouragement with her each time she steps on stage.

The Australian Ballet School is an incredible opportunity,  it also comes with significant expenses — tuition, boarding, uniforms, point shoes (weekly), travel, and the everyday costs, of living her best life in Melbourne.
It is a lot to manage on my own
As a solo parent, my journey is supporting her passion dedication & determination to reach her highest potential, to be the most inspiring Étoile for the next generation of dancers.

This is why I’m reaching out to friends, family, and the wider community for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help Arwyn continue her journey towards becoming a professional dancer — and bring her many steps closer to her dream of performing as a Principal Ballerina with the Australian Ballet Company.

Her siblings and I are so proud of her, and we know her dad would be too. With your help, Arwyn can keep living her dream and sharing her gift with the world.

A heartfelt thank you, from our hearts to yours❤️
