Help and Prayers for the Buitron Family

On behalf of the immediate and extended families of Becky and Gustavo Buitron, we are asking for prayers + help for Becky and Gustavo.

Becky and Gustavo tested positive for Covid in mid-December. Becky’s health declined quickly and she ultimately ended up at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, where she was admitted into the ICU with very low O2 (oxygen) levels. She developed bacterial pneumonia and her O2 levels continued to decline. The doctors decided it was best to intubate her to help give her lungs a break. While on the ventilator, they were able to do a CT scan and found that she had some small holes in her lungs as well as fluid around her lungs. They performed a procedure to fix the holes and they placed a tube in her lungs to help drain the fluid. They also started her on diuretics to help eliminate excess fluid as well as antibiotics to help treat the bacterial pneumonia. As of now, she is fully vented which is allowing the machines to do all of the work. She is also requiring a bit more oxygen today than she did yesterday. We are praying for an improvement in her O2 levels as well as a decrease in fluid around her lungs.

Currently, the hospital is not allowing any visitors for Becky. This is heartbreaking and unnerving for her husband, her 5 boys and the rest of her family.

Gustavo is currently recovering at home from Covid pneumonia and is unable to work. We would love to help alleviate the stress of medical expenses at this time. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your prayers, donations, etc.
