Kia ora! My name is Amber (or Psyclone to the Roller Derby community). I am a kiwi nurse who has been living and working in the UK for over 10 years. This has been quite a challenge, costing a small fortune in visa's, and including a period where I had to go home to NZ between visas.

I finally qualify for residency, or 'indefinite leave to remain'.

The fees for this application though are more than I can afford due to living on my own, current nurse wages and my recent health preventing me from working as many hours as I would like to.

It feel strange to me to be asking for support but with encouragement from my friends I've decided to go for it!

I really want to have the right to live and work in the UK, and have fought tooth and nail to stay here (not an easy process!). I have built a life here and am not ready to leave it, and my UK whanau, friends and wider community. It does seem strange that we have a national nursing shortage in our NHS (especially now) and it's so difficult and expensive for me to stay here!
