My name is Alia, and I am raising this fundraiser for my mom, and my siblings. Our family has been going through an incredibly hard time after my father left to be with another family and is no longer supporting us. We were living with my aunt for a while and she kept sending us houses to look for until she kicked us out and my uncle was trying to be a flirt with my mom. but my mom was pregnant and she lost the baby because she was in a lot of stress. Since then, we have been stuck living in a hotel while my mom works every single day just to help us make it through. We have tried to get help through DHS and housing assistance, but so far we have not been able to get the support we need. On top of everything else, my mom’s car recently broke down after an earlier accident, which has made this situation even harder for our family to manage day to day.

Right now, we are trying to get into a stable home, but living in Muskegon, Michigan is very expensive, and the costs of staying in a hotel and getting by keep adding up over time. I also just turned 18, but I still cannot get a job yet because I do not have my birth certificate or an ID, and without those documents it has been very hard to start helping financially. Support from this fundraiser will help us work toward safe, stable housing and cover the ongoing costs our family is facing while we try to get back on our feet.
