Help Aid Ray's Medical Journey Battling Multiple Illnesses

My name is Sequinna, and I am the youngest child of Cassandra and Millard "Ray" Smith. My dad is known to so many as "Mr. Smith", "Pops", and "Mr. Ray or Everday Ray". He is so loved and respected in the community. So, I am trying to raise money for my parents on behalf of my dad, 54, for his upcoming medical expenses, lodging and other expenses out at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and additional care of life at home. My dad has been recently diagnosed with a fatal illness called Multiple Systems Atrophy. This is a rare neurodegenerative disorder characterized by tremors, slow movement, muscle rigidity, postural instability and autonomic dysfunction. This condition causes gradual damage to the nerve cells in the brain. Additionally, he has also been diagnosed with Emphysema and Amlyiodosis. He has been experiencing many symptoms over the recent years from cognitive/speech issues to fainting spells and mobility issues that has been progressing rapidly over the last year.

He was previously diagnosed with Sarcoidosis in 2017, but has been recently made aware that was a misdiagnosis, and has been experiencing symptoms of MSA all along. He has been to many doctors in the cities, and has had multiple tests done that has not been able to confirm his symptoms. We then thought to make an appointment out at the Mayo Clinic to look further into what has been causing his symptoms. Within 24 hours of consults and testing they were able to diagnose him. He now has many follow up appointments over the next 2 months at Mayo. 2 of the 3 conditions are incurable with little to no treatment, except to manage his symptoms, keep him comfortable and to have the best quality of life.

A little about my father is, he's a Military Veteran having served in the Marine Corps for many years. He has also worked with the youth throughout his life, from being over the Youth Ministry through church to public speaking to high school students through Minneapolis Business College.

My parents now run a business many of you may know as The Body Talkk. This is their primary source of income that has now been placed on hold to care for my father during this time. This sudden news has been a total shock and has taken an emotional toll on our family, especially my mother Cassandra and his wife of 34 years.
