Hello there! We're Milly, Finley, and Amy, and we are three girls trying to fulfill a long-time dream of moving into a home together in California. For Milly, who has been in a long-term long-distance relationship with Finley and Amy, it also means escaping her home state of Florida. In recent days we finally came across a property willing to rent to the three of us, but we need some help with that.
- The three of us are all low-income trans women that have had difficulty finding (better) jobs.
- Milly is currently crashing with a friend in Tennessee to get away from her overbearing, transphobic parents, and from life in Florida generally.
- Finley's hours at her part-time job are constantly changing and not guaranteed from week to week.
- Amy is currently a tenant at a different property and is responsible for one more month of rent. Due to a lack of jobs in her area, her income is based on freelance programming work, which has proven unreliable.
While Milly is relying on existing savings to make the move happen, these factors (particularly Amy's financial situation) make it difficult for us to raise additional funds on our own to smooth out the process and ensure every expense is covered.
Funds raised from this GFM will be used for securing our rental (approx. $5000), covering Amy's rent from her previous lease (approx. $1300), and covering Milly's road travel to CA from TN (approx. $650). Any additional funds will be used for any surprise moving expenses as they arise.
