Help a Loving Family Get a Reliable Vehicle.

Hello, my name is Matt Cook, and I’m reaching out with a humble and heavy heart, asking for your prayers—and, if you’re able, a little financial help.
My wife and I are both hardworking parents doing everything we can to care for our three beautiful young boys. I’m a proud Army veteran who served from 2009 to 2015, and today I continue to serve other veterans as an employee at the Department of Veterans Affairs. My wife stays home during the week to care for our kids, and she works weekends as a hairstylist.
Recently, our main family vehicle broke down due to major engine issues. It’s beyond repair, and we now find ourselves without reliable transportation to get to work, run errands, or take our children to appointments and activities. We do have a small sedan, but it’s far too cramped for five people and can’t realistically support our daily lives. The loss of our vehicle has made an already difficult situation much harder.
The truth is, we’ve been struggling financially for a while. A recent study said a family of five needs at least $115,000 to live comfortably in Michigan. We make just over half that. A big part of our financial burden comes from our children’s complex medical and dietary needs. All three of our boys have serious food allergies and sensitivities. Keeping them healthy and safe requires constant attention and expenses that quickly add up—but we do it with love, because they deserve nothing less.
We’ve tried everything we can. I’ve applied for better-paying jobs, even within the VA, and we’ve even looked at opportunities out of state. In the evenings, after the kids go to sleep, my wife and I take turns delivering for Uber Eats and DoorDash just to make a little extra income. But it’s not enough.
We’re not the kind of people who find it easy to ask for help. Honestly, it’s really hard. But right now, we’re facing a challenge we can’t overcome on our own. We desperately need a used, reliable vehicle to get our family through this season of life.
If you’re able to help in any way—whether through a donation or simply by sharing our story—we would be incredibly grateful. Every little bit brings us closer to getting back on our feet. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and may God bless you for your kindness.
With gratitude,
Matt & Family
