Help a Lifelong Caregiver Get the Help She Desperately Needs

Imagine dedicating your entire life to helping others. Now, imagine that one day, your ability to help is taken away—by something you can't control. This is the reality my wife, Audrey, is living. For over 20 years, my extraordinary wife has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children and families in need. As a Social Worker and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, she's worked tirelessly to support underprivileged families and children struggling with developmental delays and mental health issues. But now, the one person who has always given selflessly to others is struggling herself.
In January 2023, Audrey was providing critical mental health support in an infant classroom when she contracted COVID-19. What was supposed to be a short recovery turned into something life-changing, a battle with Long-Haul Covid, or Long Covid. Over time, the illness severely impacted her health, and by March 2024, Audrey was no longer able to work due to the debilitating symptoms she now faces. Despite her efforts to continue working, her health continues to deteriorate.
Audrey has been working since she was 13 years old, dedicating her life to supporting others, especially vulnerable children and families. But now, for the first time in her life, she is forced to ask for help. It is incredibly difficult for her, as she has always been the one to offer assistance. I work a full-time and part-time job to support the family, but my income is just enough to cover the bills, leaving little room for unexpected medical costs, treatment, and everyday living expenses.
Although Audrey has applied for disability benefits, the process will take until Fall 2025, and she has no financial support in the meantime. We have gone through our savings, and with medical bills piling up, we are struggling to make ends meet. Her insurance was lost in October 2024, and the new insurance is much more expensive with a high deductible. Audrey has stopped receiving treatment because we simply cannot afford it.
We are asking for your help. This campaign will provide financial support for her treatment, bills, and emergency expenses while she waits for her disability benefits. Every dollar raised will go directly toward alleviating the financial burden she and our family are facing. Our goal is to get Audrey the help she needs so that she can eventually return to helping others in need, just as she has done for decades. Your generosity can help a woman who has given so much to others, finally get the help she so desperately needs.
