Help a Lifelong Barber Stand Tall Again!

My name is Samaiya Booker and me and my brother Shannon Jr, are raising money for my Dad’s back surgery. He has to pay $9,000 in deductibles before having the surgery and he will miss at least 3 weeks of work without pay after the surgery to heal & recover. Since he is self-employed, he has “NO” paid days off.
For over 30 years, Shannon “Big Book” Booker has been cutting hair and serving his community — not just with a steady hand and skilled clippers, but with a warm heart, listening ear, and endless dedication. As a full-time barber, he’s spent decades on his feet, providing for his family and building lasting relationships one haircut at a time. He’s the kind of Barber who remembers your kids’ names, gives advice like a father, and treats every client like family.
Now, after years of pushing through pain, he’s facing a major challenge: he needs back surgery to relieve serious pain and prevent further complications.
But this surgery isn’t just about pain relief. It’s about giving him the freedom to pick up his granddaughter without wincing; To chase her around the yard; To sit on the floor and play without struggling to get back up.
He’s not ready to slow down or quit Barbering. He just needs a little help to keep going. He’s not asking for a handout — just a chance to keep showing up for his family and community, the way he always has.
We’re asking for your help to ease this burden and give him the care he needs. Whether you’ve sat in his chair, shared a laugh, or just believe in supporting those who’ve spent their lives supporting others — we’re grateful for any amount you can give.
If you can give, we are deeply grateful. And if you can’t, sharing this campaign can be just as powerful. One share could reach the person who makes all the difference.
Thank you for helping us lift up a man who has spent his life lifting others — one haircut, one smile, one moment at a time. ❤️❤️❤️
