Help a Grieving Family this Holiday Season

Last week, a wife and mother of two, Ruvina Eber-Mechin, tragically and unexpectedly passed away at 41-years old. She and her husband Tom, both public school teachers, were college sweethearts. Ruvina having taught Special Education in a local school collectively for the last 15-years, was also a guardian for her adult brother with down syndrome. Ruvina, a loving mother of two amazing kids, an 11 and 9 year old, was a recent breast cancer survivor. She opted to have a double mastectomy in order to further her changes of survival to be there for her children's future.

Due to this tragic loss, their family is forced to relocate to another state so they can be with family. Tom, now a single father, and not having planned for this sudden tragedy, could use our financial support for family relocation, funeral costs, and outstanding medical bills. The Mechin's have always been community people who give back, and now it's time to rally together to support them during this difficult time. The past year and a half has been trying for the Mechin's due to Ruvina's battle with breast cancer and the loss of family members. At the start of the pandemic, Ruvina lost both her father and grandmother to COVID. Tom then lost his mother to cancer shortly thereafter. "My heart, my world has been shattered. After nearly two years of tragedy, of loss, of struggles and challenges, my family has suffered the cruelest and unimaginable of tragedies this week. Ruvina, my wife, my best friend, the loving mother to our two children, tragically and suddenly passed away. I am beyond devastated. I would like to be able to reach out to each and every one of you who loved her as much as we did, but unfortunately all my time is dedicated to my family and children. I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love. Services will be private. Ruvina...I love you and will forever miss you!"
