Help a Gazan Refugee Finish School

Hi my name is Aliyah i’m organizing this campaign for my friend. He is a law student who recently got his degree. He was evacuated from Gaza by an intiative supporting students but now he needs support getting to Algeria for a scholarship he received. My friend wants to remain anonymous but Ahmed Issa, an organizer & a media manager for a few Palestinian organizations will be supporting our efforts to help our friend meet his needs.

My friend’s story in his own words (translated from arabic)

Dear friends, To everyone who receives this appeal, I am 25 years old, I hold a bachelor’s degree in international humanitarian law from the University of Palestine, I hold a law degree, and I am a human rights defender and trainer for university students. After finishing practicing law, I was seriously thinking about completing my education, and I actually applied. I registered for an Algerian state scholarship to study a master’s degree, and I started preparing for that stage, but I woke up on October 7 to the sound of gunfire & missiles after I was supposed to go to the headquarters of the Ministry of Education to follow up on the issue of obtaining the scholarship, and after the aggression on Gaza, the means of communication were cut off, until it was confirmed that I had obtained the scholarship. I lived for more than 150 days in the midst of destruction, and I had lost hope of leaving the Gaza Strip, but I was surprised, without prior warning, that there was an initiative to evacuate the stranded students, and I was among the students who left the Gaza Strip. The dream of leaving Gaza was impossible, but it came true with the presence of the initiative to get the students out. Today, I was stranded and lost contact with my family, and I need help to be able to continue my educational project to obtain a master’s degree in international cooperation to serve society and the world and achieve the principles of peace security and spreading the culture of human rights in society. For all of this, I urge you to provide financial support so that I can leave Cairo and complete my studies, which will be for two years, and this education is now the only option for me now, after my exit and the closure of the crossing, and since it is a scholarship that cannot be replaced, and it will certainly contribute to making my future better.
