Help 9-Year-Old Perla del Mar Shine at the Jr. Olympics Basketball Tournament!

Hi! I’m Flor-Angel Guilbe, proud mom of a vibrant and determined 9-year-old athlete who’s about to live a dream: competing in the Junior Olympics Basketball Tournament at the Puerto Rico Convention Center this summer.

My daughter, Perla del Mar, has been playing basketball with heart, discipline, and a fierce love for the game. She’s one of the youngest on her team, but her leadership and commitment shine every time she steps on the court. She trains hard, uplifts her teammates, and is learning what it means to commit to something bigger than herself.

Perla is not only a talented athlete—she is a spectacular young girl with natural leadership skills who continues to grow into her purpose. Despite facing challenges beyond her years, she moves forward with determination, compassion, and grace. Her faith in God has been her anchor, giving her the courage to rise above obstacles and the confidence to lead both on and off the court. Watching her overcome so much with a hopeful heart and unwavering spirit has been one of the greatest honors of my life.

This opportunity is a tremendous honor—not just for her, but for every young girl with big dreams and the courage to pursue them. Perla is stepping into this moment with confidence, heart, and purpose. She’s not just playing basketball—she’s challenging expectations, rising as a leader, and showing that girls deserve a place in every arena, especially in sports. This tournament is more than just a competition; it’s a chance for her to grow, to represent her team and her community, and to be seen for the strong, capable, and driven girl she is.

As many of you know, opportunities like this come with real costs: uniforms, registration fees, travel, meals, and other tournament expenses. Because the tournament is being held far from home, we also need to cover the cost of a 5-night hotel stay, which makes this journey even more challenging financially. That’s why we’re reaching out to our community for support. Whether it’s $5, $20, or simply sharing this campaign, every bit helps bring Perla closer to this incredible experience.
