Hi there! If you’ve got two minutes, we’d love to tell you about what we’re building for real artists and refugees. Artists from around West Africa are participating in this event, but there are seven (7) passionate creators from across Nigeria who lack the resources to transport their work to our Art for Social Impact exhibition at the University of Lagos. And we’re asking for your help to make sure they actually get here.
Our featured artists are traveling in from Benin City, Nsukka, Jos, Ibadan, and Oyo. They aren't big-name celebrities with big budgets; they're working independent artists who use their craft to shine a light on the real-life issues affecting everyday people across the country.
Long-distance flight tickets, interstate bus fares, two nights in a safe hotel, and basic meals add up quickly and it's a cost these young creatives can't carry on their own.
We want to roll out the welcome mat, cover their travel, and show them that their art and voices are valued.
Where every dollar goes:
- $1,500 for Transit: Flight tickets for 5 artists traveling long-distance (from Benin, Nsukka, and Jos) plus bus fares for 2 artists (from Ibadan and Oyo).
- $700 for Hotel & Meals: A safe, comfortable hotel for 2 nights and simple daily meals for all 7 visiting artists.
How you can pitch in:
- $25 covers a full day of meals for a traveling artist.
- $50 pays for an interstate bus ticket.
- $150 – $250 covers a full plane ticket to bring an artist in from cities like Jos or Nsukka.
Your donation does so much more than buy a bus or plane ticket! It tells a young creator that their work matters.
Please chip in whatever you can,
or share this campaign with someone who loves supporting independent artists!
