Heartworm Treatment

Meet Elsa! She is newly rescued. Since she is an unaltered female we were worried about her being pregnant.

Luckily she is not pregnant. Unfortunately she is heart worm positive.

Any help we can receive towards her care is greatly appreciated!

This is Stewie, our newest heart worm positive dog. He is a sweet 1yr old beagle.

Unfortunately we got to him too late. Only a couple weeks into heartworm treatment he went into heart failure and passed away. Heart worms are a serious matter. It is so incredibly important for dogs to have monthly heart worm prevention, which can literally save their life!

Meet Lotus. This sweet girl is also battling heart worms! She got it pretty bad.

In the middle of the night she coughed and sneezed up blood and flem, giving her foster and all of us a real scare!

She is doing better, but heart worm treatment is a long process.

Our sweet Lotus is not heartworm negative and has been adopted!

The fight never seems to end. Archie, who we recently rescued has tested positive for heartworms. We cannot stress enough how important heartworm prevention is.

Archie is an incredibly sweet boy that had been abandoned in a home with his two sisters. Despite that he is the most loving boy ever!

We are so heartbroken that he has tested positive for heartworms. Heartworm treatment can be a difficult process.

Archie is now heart worm negative! He is looking for his furever home!

Biscuit has been doing great with his heartworm treatment and has only two shots left! He should be in the clear soon! Thank you to everyone that helped support us!

Biscuit joined our Semper Fi Legacy Rescue family 5/7/23. Biscuit had been found wondering the streets. A kind lady took him in, but would have lost her apartment if she kept him. She found us and we are so happy we were able to help.

We took Biscuit to our vet and he tested positive for heart worm. Heart worm treatment is a difficult and expensive process. We would greatly appreciate any help we can get to cover Biscuit's vet bills.

Heart worm is a huge problem, especially here in the south where mosquitoes are abundant. If you are not able to donate, please share, and help educate on the dangers of heart worm.
