Meet Hudson Pace, the strongest 12 year old on the planet!
Hudson and his family have had their fair share of illness and injury but the ugly C word has now put it's mark on the Pace family. On February 1st Hudson started showing signs of what we "thought" was mono, but 1 week later their entire world flipped when it turned out to be Leukemia. In order to understand why I say he's the strongest person I know, you need to be given the full story.
In 2015 Hudson had a routine tonsillectomy which caused him to form Grisel's Syndrome. This rare side effect resulted in a year of testing and the end result was this guy undergoing a halo placement and weeks of therapy. Of course like any champion would do, Hudson overcame his injury and fully recovered all while doing everything any other boy his age would do!
Fast forward a few years to the summer of 2019 when Hudson and his dad Corey were struck from behind on a ATV while spraying the roadside of their family farm. Both were ejected and suffered multiple injuries including broken backs for the father and son duo, but once again......The Pace family overcame their injuries and both of them made full recoveries.
Now to the day that life changed forever 2/10/21 when they heard the words that no parent should ever have to hear "it's leukemia". Since that phone call life has moved at a fast pace (no pun.... well maybe a little.... intended). We are so fortunate to only be 3 hours from the BEST pediatric cancer facility in the world and that is exactly where they went. St. Jude hospital has been and will continue to be called home for this boy and his parents for the next 3 months where Hudson will receive chemotherapy along with a brigade of treatments and test.
They also had to leave behind Hudson's little sister Audrey. Since he is so very susceptible to illness his exposure to others has to be extremely limited and unfortunately that same concept applies to mom & dad since they are the primary care takers.
We humbly ask for your continued prayers for this family and on behalf of Corey, Heather, Hudson and Audrey, THANK YOU for your continued support while we fight this giant!
1 Samuel 17:37
