This is Angela. She was born with a defective aortic valve in her heart.  She has had several risky open heart surgeries since a young age.  Her health has declined to the point where she is now at Cleveland Clinic in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the heart transplant list.

I am from Midland, Michigan, and have been a lifelong friend to Angela and her family. Our parents have been lifelong friends as well. I felt moved to start a gofundme page for Angela and her family to assist them in any way I could since I can't fix her heart and we're so far away from her. I've had several people ask how they can help and I felt called to open this page. 

Angela will not be able to leave the ICU until after a successful heart transplant surgery and several months of rehabilitation/recovery.  Most of her family and friends are five hours away in mid-Michigan.  

Angela's brother, Nick, has been designated to distribute funds to Angela and Gus as needed. Angela has been in and out of hospitals for the past 5 years as her valves have been slowly failing. Your immediate donation will be used to offset the medical bills for insurance deductibles, co-payments and medications.  A successful campaign will also provide on-going financial support to cover travel and lodging expenses to visit Angela in Cleveland.
