Hackney Half Marathon for Oli
Donation protected
At the beginning of this year, our dear friend Oli Hilsdon passed away following a battle against Glioblastoma Multiforme - the most lethal and aggressive form of adult brain cancer. He was just 10 days short of his 27th birthday.
Oli was a truly amazing person – he had an unmatched zest for life, achieving more in his 26 years than most do in their lifetime. Please do read more about his story in the links below.
Oli loved running and was very very good at it. We do not love it and are not good at it. However, we all loved him and wanted to honour his memory, as well as raise money for The Oli Hilsdon Foundation, a charity currently being set up by his family which will fund much-needed brain tumour research. So we (Payvand, Charlotte and Sophie) have all signed up to run the Hackney Half Marathon on 19 May in his memory.
It would be fair to say that we weren’t 100% clear on what we were signing up for: Payvand thought it was 13km, not 13 miles(!), Sophie signed up while drunk, and Charlotte was tricked in to running when hungover and surrounded by puppies, so would have said yes to pretty much anything. Whether we run, walk or crawl, we are all determined to finish for Oli.
Please support us and this wonderful charity. All donations welcome!
Lots of love Payvand, Charlotte and Sophie x
