Hello friends and family.
As you probably heard by now if you're reading this my mother Gloria Singleton had a severe stroke and thankfully was at work and was mid-conversation with some amazing co-workers that immediately knew she was having a stroke. Was at the hospital within 20 minutes or so. The following morning things got a lot worse and she had to have an emergency thrombectomy caused by the stroke. Thrombectomy surgery for a stroke is basically where they shove a tube through her pelvis and up into her brain to suck excessive blood out of her brain from the brain bleeding. If she wasn't with her co-workers when it started and promptly sent to the hospital and the nurses weren't on top of noticing her vitals and the brain bleeding she would not have lasted too long the doctor told me.
My family and I are extremely grateful to everyone involved. There are no words to express my gratitude. My mother means the world to me and everyone who's had the honor of getting to know her can attest.
The reason I am starting this GofundMe is to help my mother not get evicted. The medical bills we will have to figure out as they come pouring in but more importantly, I need my mother to have a place to live. The landlord knows she is currently in the hospital in a rehabilitation center and will be there at least another month but still is charging her late fees and such. Considering my mother cannot move the left side of her body and will have to have homecare as well when she gets out, it is vital we come up with the funds to keep her lights on and rent paid. The LandLord is not budging when it comes to charging her late fees so the sooner we can get help, the better.
Anything will help!. It is pretty sad we live in a country where I should have to reach out to you all in this capacity but fortunately for me and my family, we've been lucky enough to be surrounded by amazing humans with big hearts who exemplify what it truly means to have compassion and empathy. The image I chose of my mother for this campaign is spot on to her approach towards life and how she treats others... In my eyes though, she eclipses the notion of being Invincible and is a shining light to anyone who has ever had the privilege of meeting her but sometimes people with Invincibility need help too.
She is doing well and has all her brain functions but is obviously stressed out due to the fact she can't use the restroom without assistance, she has to learn how to move her hands and learn how to walk again.... My mother is a smart, strong, and fearless woman and has never wavered or given up on anyone or anything so Thank You in advance for helping her as you know she would do the same for us. My family and I are trying our best but could really use some help right now and quite honestly are desperate.
