4 miles every 4 hours for a total of 52.4 miles
Donation protected
From the 7th to the 9th of June, a crazy group of Durham Students (Collingwood College) have collaboratively decided to run a double marathon over 48 hours. Our challenge is 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours - finishing with a 4.4 mile run to amass the total of a double marathon. By the end, we hope to become masters of power naps, stretching and carrying boats.
The root of our collective effort and suffering is to inspire change by raising funds for both Cancer Research and Mind, taking ownership in doing our part for charity. These charities are close to many of our hearts, with 1 in 2 of us expected to now become a victim of cancer in our lifetime, knowing many people in our lives, friends or family which have either been lost to, or are struggling with cancer. Mental Health is also at the forefront of our daily lives and it is for this reason we want to support, uplift and inspire others by attempting to raise some money for both of these amazing charities.
We would really appreciate any support that you could give, either through a donation on this page or joining us in our progress over the course of this crazy challenge; even endearing messages of mental support would be incredibly welcome, with two of our members recovering from ankle injuries, one still awaiting an x-ray, another having just had an operation and one who is recovering from his fourth concussion of the year.
Despite not being in the fittest shape of our lives, we are overwhelmingly committed to overcoming this challenge, and welcome you to follow along on our journey.
Thank you in advance,
The Team,
Cameron, Ollie, Scarlet, Daisy, Ryan, James, Oscar and Tristan!
