It has recently become known to my family and I that the road ahead for us is going to be a very hard and long one, but as a family we are all so incredibly strong and this is just one more stepping stone in showing our strength.
My grandpa, Paul, such an incredible man, husband, father and grandfather has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Bladder Cancer.
For those of you who do not know, Stage 3 Cancer is a later stage that is much more strenuous on the body and challenging to conquer. It requires many more treatments then Stages 1 and 2 to try and eliminate the cancer as well as contain it from spreading. In Stage 3 the cancer has now attached itself to the muscles of his bladder, making it much more difficult to eliminate, but nonetheless not impossible with the right course of treatment and strength. He's now undergoing long strenuous Chemo treatments to try and stop/minimize the spread of the cancer as well as trying to shrink it.
He's reached the stages of undergoing some serious medical treatments and surgeries that are very long, tiring, and expensive.
If it weren't already hard enough going through what he is, the expenses are overwhelming for both of my grandparents.
Through the pain, the worry and the scariness of this diagnosis he has remained in such incredible spirits, which is truly an inspiration .
For many of those that have met my grandfather, you can easily say he is one of those rare individuals you meet that touch lives in ways that leave imprints of themselves on others that are everlasting.
He is, and continues to be, quite literally one of the strongest people I have ever had the pleasure of not only knowing, but having in my life as an incredible role model. He still has so many more lives to touch in his lifetime and this battle will be fought long and hard with the strength in him we all know he has.
He is truly a man that embodies selflessness throughout his life by giving back to those who he sees in need, never asking for anything in return.
A man so stubborn and proud he will go to the ends of the earth to make everyone feel safe and like everything is okay, even when it may not be.
He's been the caretaker, the one to always lend a hand to other's when not expected.
Now, it is my family's turn to be the caretaker for him and for a hand to be lent to him even though he does not expect it.
I'm creating this GoFundMe without my grandparents knowledge so please be discrete and if you were unaware of what is happening, let the people in my family be able to tell you and don't bring this up to them please. We are all very private as a whole and never know when to ask for help, so this is my way of doing that for them.
Any amount graciously given would be of help to them, their co-pays are very high and a lot of money is coming out of pocket on the back-end already for all of their Medical Bill's unfortunately.
I appreciate any and all help that anyone is willing to give, whether that's donating, spreading this GoFundMe, or praying for him and sending positivity.
My family and I thank any of those that have, will, and will always continue to be there for my family and I.
