My name is Jamie Navin and I am writing on behalf of my Aunt, Jennifer Wolbach. Have you ever had "THAT" family member you looked up to and idolized as a child? Jenny was that person for me and many of my cousins. Jenny is my aunt but always felt more like a sister. Growing up we spent lots of time together. We had sleepovers, played dolls, played hide and seek, talked, and shared many secrets together. I remember vividly watching and taking notes on how Jenny did her make-up and hair so that I could be just like her someday.
Now, Jenny and her husband Bob share a wonderful life together in Glenwood, IA with their three beautiful children Josh (17), Sam (14), and Anna (12). The past few months have brought much heartache, mental, and physical challenges for Jenny. During a recent routine mammogram, doctors discovered a mass in her left breast. After another mammogram, two biopsies, an MRI, and a third biopsy they have determined that there are a total of three masses. Jenny has remained optimistic, but doctors have advised her to have a double mastectomy. Of course, this will more than likely include reconstructive surgery, possibly chemo and/or radiation. The initial surgery is scheduled for September 23rd and as you know the Corona Virus makes surgery and hospital stays even more difficult.
This news has shaken Jenny and her family as it would any of us. Not only the medical concerns but the financial burden of surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, hospital stays, time off work for recovery, etc. all weigh heavily on Jenny and Bob. When all is said and done my hope is that Jenny can focus on her health and recovery and not be burdened by finances. That is why I have created this Go Fund Me, to help Jenny recover without this extra stress.
If you are able and willing to donate to Jenny and her family during this incredibly difficult time, I know they would be forever grateful. If you are unable to donate we completely understand but ask everyone to keep Jenny and her family in your thoughts and prayers during these uncertain times.
