Good Hope Crisis Response

!!! THIS IS URGENT !!!

2020 is a very difficult year for our community in Majengo. Tanzania has been plagued by heavy and unusual rainfalls for several months, and on April 21 a flood has hit our community downhill from Good Hope. Many houses have been devastated, others have broken apart completely.

At least five of our Good Hope students and their families are homeless now and have been given an emergency shelter at a closed government school. They are staying there without any mattresses, exposed to an incredible risk for Corona.

As Good Hope has become an important center for support and advise in our community, many families are approaching us, asking for help in these difficult times. The Corona crisis hits the poorest among us, as many families cannot afford a 1 weeks supply of food, let alone have their own access to water or enough soap to wash their hands regularly. And Corona is spreading rapidly in Tanzania!

WE HAVE TO RESPOND NOW!

Good Hope will provide five students and their families with shelter and provide each family with their own room. We will provide them with blankets, mattresses, and food. But we need your help!

Good Hope has always been a drop-in center for the most marginalized kids and their families. As Corona hits the poorest families the hardest, Good Hope wants to provide each family with a crisis response package, in order to enable them to meet the minimal safety measures for Corona. They need face masks, hand sanitizer, soap, and buckets to store enough water as many have no own water supply.

For 100 USD we can provide one of the five homeless families with mattresses, blankets, and some clothes

For 80 USD we can provide one of the five homeless families with food and supplies for one month

For 60 USD we can provide one family with a crisis response package

For 30 USD  we can provide one family with extra rice, flour and oil food supplies
