As a young black man my goal has always been about unity and growing up in San Diego I have experienced racism first hand. I have experienced people threatening me, calling me out of my name, and wanting to fight me just because of the color of my skin, and I have also seen other people in the community of San Diego treat me with respect, honor, love, care, and guidance. Most recently I have experienced being arrested for exercising my first amendment right of freedom of speech, speaking against injustice, the right to assemble and have a peaceful protest, and that is the injustice I want us to change in this world.
"I cry at night because I feel your pain and I love each and every one of you and I want to understand you"
(Gee Jordan Jr.)
My name is real name is Givionne Jordan Jr. or Pharaoh Almighty (Nickname) and I got arrested in Marion Square May 30th 2020. After I got out of jail I decided to start a gofundme to give back to the African American community here in Charleston and to also use the money to help fund a small black owned business/movement called RagFamDurags which I started. I will be giving 20 percent of the donations to the Black Lives Matter organization here in Charleston and 60 percent of the donations will go towards the business/movement RagFamDurags. The rest will be used for personal/court case expenses for my court case. I am also in contact with the local Black Lives Matter organization & leader Marcus McDonald here in Charleston.
RagFamDurags mission is that we want people of different races and backgrounds to understand that the African American culture of durags is a large part of our culture and are no different from other cultures who wear head-wear for either hair health, fashion, or cultural standards as people. To reshape the ideology of durags not as just an item to wear on peoples' heads, but as a professional fashion statement by becoming one with the fashion world, is our dream, goal, and our vision!
