GO VOTE MURAL!
My name is Daniel Bonilla, Main artist and organizer of this creative, Your Vote Matters mural happening during the last week of September, 2020.
I am a local artist in uptown Manhattan raising money for an independent mural project painted in collaboration with BlazayNY and organized with North of Manhattan Art Alliance (NoMaa). Many of us have been taking to the streets in support of justice and democracy. Recently, I had a vision to send a message to my community. We are coming up pretty fast on 2020's election and it is super important everyone votes. Our message will reflect just that, GO VOTE ! We will be working on a non partisan mural on Broadway and Dyckman in Uptown Manhattan.
The 11 x 20 foot mural will be a visual representation of the community’s right to vote! The mural will include: different hands placing ballots to represent voting in person, a USPS truck to depict voting by mail, and the reminder that Your VOTE Matters! Additionally, the mural will include websites with voter information. We only have several days to raise the money to enable us to create this mural. Every penny counts!
Your contribution will go towards paint, brushes, scaffold, safety supplies, artist assistant payment, permits (if needed), and insurance for the job. Together, we can send a message to all those who can vote and make a difference in local and federal government!
I believe in my community and this is one way of giving back. This project is an independent project and we need all the help we can get. We would like to thank NoMAA for helping us organize this wonderful creative experience. Together we can make a difference!!
