Send The Due Westerners to the World Championship
Detraibile fiscalmente
Ever feel like your robotics team is starring in an inspirational movie about youth in an underserved/rural area overcoming odds? That is exactly how we feel!
Yesterday our high school robotics team (The Due Westerners) advanced to the 5-day FIRST Robotics World Championship to compete with the top 600 teams from around the world!
We need to raise funds to leave in less than 10 days. Our budget of $30,000 accounts for the $5,000 team registration fee, transporting tools/robot/equipment, travel, lodging, food, and shipping. This will cover 17 students and the necessary mentors/chaperones to make this trip possible.
Our WISH is that every single team member gets to partake in this "once in a lifetime" experience/honor that they earned. The team won the FIRST Engineering Inspiration Award at the Anderson District event and the FIRST Impact Award at the Peachtree Hartsville event. At the Peachtree District Championship, they advanced to World after winning the Engineering Inspiration Award.
Due West Robotics Mission: The purpose of the organization is to educate young people and inspire them in all things STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) related.
Due West Robotics is a 501(c)3 nonprofit recognized as a model rural STEM program. It was started in 2012 and is located in Due West, South Carolina (population of 1,300). Due West is situated in Abbeville County (population 25,000). Our students and program have inspired others in rural areas to realize they can create sustainable opportunities for their youth while being highly competitive with teams from larger areas.
