Hi Everyone,
I’m Mandy and I live in Maryland. I’ve been fighting hard to rise above hard times with the goals to secure a home and car. After recovering from homelessness, I have remained committed to keeping my job by any means necessary which requires me to walk almost 8 hours a day to work a splits shift of 6.5-7 hours. My family and I have truly endured a difficult time like man and have very little support to fall back on. So when the going gets hard, I often have to work extra hard to maintain and take on a lot of difficult obstacles to ensure my baby boy, whom is 7, is stable because I can’t imagine putting my baby through a shelter, being outside, or from place to place ever again. Now that I’m slowly achieving my goal of housing stability -I’m praying and fighting as hard as I can to get a vehicle but with the recovery from homelessness being so recent and not receiving taxes this year, I’m not able to save a down payment and get the car on the road without the help of my community and tons of prayers. I’ve been sharing my story online lately and I’ve been encouraged to start a go fund me which might be the answered prayer we need. Maryland is very limited with resources and I haven’t found anything yet that helps with a downpayment. I’ve done some research and calling around and discovered that enterprise offers options within my price range to purchase a vehicle. If I’m able to put $1000 down and get it on the road which will be roughly $500-$700, I will be able to maintain payments ! I just need a little hand and pray that with my hard work, determination and faith, I will be able to get the vehicle me and my baby need so that I can be around more and not have to leave so early to get to work on time. There is no local bus that runs even within a mile or two my direction or near my job. So a car will truly help maintain the stability for my baby that I’ve fought so hard to achieve and of course, I’ll finally be able to do more or take him places and take him to his specialists (has epilepsy and asthma) that I’m unable to get to at times without spending a ton of money. I hope my transparency and determination shows my community that I won’t give up or make excuses and I most certainly will take great care of this blessing when it comes. This is my story and my life & I won’t lose hope because it’s just a rough few moments -not a rough life. Gods brought me so far from childhood to now and I just want to maintain the stability and break cycles so my babies never have to struggle like I did. Thank you all so much in advance for your support. I know that this too shall pass!
When I’m blessed with my car, I promise to post the process and updates !
