Our hearts are heavy as we rally around someone we love so much! On April 15th, the Gilbert family's world was flipped upside down. Roupi went in for a colonoscopy and he was told they had found a malignant tumor. Within 48 hours he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasis to his liver and lymph-nodes. They were then hit with the devastating news that due to the location and number of lymph nodes it is deemed inoperable. The only option is "going for broke" with the most aggressive treatment plan of chemo. The high levels of chemo that he is taking requires him to have a continuous pump at home for 48 hours post treatments. When he is on treatment, and for 48 hours after (every other week), he is unable to stay with Jordan and the girls, so he has to stay with family. As you can imagine that has been so hard on them.
Roupi is a devoted husband to Jordan and loving father to his two daughters, Addison, 7, and Weslynn, 5. Despite the daunting diagnosis, Roupi continues to fight with unwavering strength and courage. He is the heart of his family and now needs our help to continue this fight with every tool possible. While he is undergoing traditional treatment, his family is pursuing alternative therapies that offer hope for improved outcomes and quality of life.
Before his diagnosis, Roupi worked tirelessly as a UPS driver providing for his family, but due to the physical demands of his job—constant heavy lifting and long hours in the extreme Arizona heat—he is no longer able to work. The financial strain is overwhelming with very minimal disability payments, and while Jordan juggles full-time caregiving, she is also trying to continue to work as the sole income provider, comforting her girls and trying to carry the weight of what comes next. As friends and family, so many of you have asked how to help lift some of that weight from their shoulders. Roupi is on his 6th round of Chemo. The last scan did not show any change so they are continuing the current plan and will have another scan on Oct. 2nd following his 8th treatment. He has already undergone so much in these short few months.
Roupi & Jordan would never ask for help, so I am stepping in and humbly reaching out. Our goal is to help with any immediate and unforeseen needs as they navigate this chapter. Every dollar, every share, and mostly every prayer means the world right now. If you are able to give, we are endlessly grateful. Most importantly please continue to lift this family in prayer and send your love to Addison, Weslynn, Jordan & Roupi.
Please consider contributing or sharing this campaign. (Please nothing on Social Media at this time as there is still family & friends we haven't told)
