Protecting Gippsland’s Forests for Future Generations

We are Gippsland Forest Guardians, a not-for-profit incorporated association based in South Gippsland.

Our mission is simple but vital: to protect and enhance Gippsland’s forests for future generations of animals, plants, and people.

We are a team of unpaid volunteers.

Every donation goes directly to supporting our legal, scientific and technical work, and public campaigns.

What we need support for:

• Scientific and technical reports

• Field surveys, GIS mapping, drone photography

• Legal costs and Freedom of Information (FOI) actions

• Campaign costs, website, and communications

Right now, we are preparing for an important VCAT hearing scheduled for May.

Hancock Victorian Plantations (HVP) has appealed a ruling by the Information Commissioner, which had ordered the release of Timber Harvest Plans to us.

This case could set a crucial precedent for other environment groups seeking access to forestry information on Crown land.
