Ghana Medical and Health Outreach 2024

A team of like-minded professionals from the United Kingdom will be travelling to Ghana on a Medical Outreach from 28th September to 7th October 2024 for their annual health screening and promotion. We aim to bridge the health inequality gap which is avoidable, unfair and systemic differences in health between the different people groups we encounter. The team consist of volunteers who are trained Doctors, Nurses,  Pharmacists and Physician Associates as well as some non-medical personnel. All the team members will be funding themselves and all donations received will go directly towards the purchase of medicines, medical consumables and equipment. The team are looking to treat approximately 2000 people in the Ejura district in the Ashanti Region targeting very remote villages that do not have easy access to healthcare. They will be identifying and treating medical conditions such as Diabetes, Hepatitis, Hypertension, Malaria, Skin conditions and Tuberculosis among others. Long-term conditions are a major cause of poor quality of life. People in lower socio-economic groups are more likely to be affected. Deprivation also increases the likelihood of having more than one long-term condition at the same time. 
In addition, the team will also be visiting Schools, Churches and Prisons to deliver health talks and to make donations of collected clothing, stationery food items etc. On behalf of the team thank you in advance for any contribution you can make towards this work which will make a difference to several communities in Ghana.
