Help Bring a Better Quality of Life to Ostomates
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Paul; I have an ostomy. After 12 years of dealing with ongoing digestive issues, I ended up in the hospital for the 10th time and faced my 6th operation. No medicines were working, and I was told I needed an ostomy. I fought with the doctors (and tons of pain) for 20 days but eventually relented to the inevitable life-changing surgery.
When I was released from the hospital, I found that gas buildup in my ostomy pouch was stopping me from leaving the house. The constant worry of ballooning and releasing gas was getting in the way of returning to a normal life. I tried many existing products on the market, but they didn't help enough. While the ostomy gave me a better quality of life, I needed to solve this problem. So I sat down and started coming up with ideas.
Over a few months, and countless hours of design and 3D printing, I landed on a prototype design that worked great. At that moment, I realized others like me would benefit from what I created. So I set out to create Ostoh, a business focused on making ostomy life easier for ostomates. The valve will be our first product to make our vision a reality.
Between ramping up for manufacturing, continuing our patent filings, and prepping for FDA registration, there is so much involved in creating something like this. Ostoh and I could use your help.
Not only has the Ostoh valve helped me feel like myself again, but we have received positive feedback from our discussions with local ostomy groups. The Ostoh valve has the opportunity to help so many others.
I hope you can take some time and donate to this project to help create a better quality of life for those who need it.
