My little step-sister has just been diagnosed with TENs (Toxic Epithelial Necrosis).  On Friday, she was her usual bubbly happy self and by Monday was life-flighted to Shriner's Children's Hospital in Boston.  Her body is reacting to Motrin and it has caused an auto-immune response.  Her own body is rejecting her skin.  The epithelial layer is the very top layer of skin found on our bodies both internally and externally.  She is covered in a blistering rash and has begun to slough off her skin.  She will continue to get worse for around another week or so.   She is heavily sedated right now and is in no pain.  She will stay intubated and sedated until she stops reacting, which could take as long as two more weeks.  Once she stops reacting, the healing process will begin.  She is in the best burn victim unit in New England and is getting the best care possible.  Here she is expected to recover and get well.  The doctors say this recovery process will likely take an additional three to five weeks.  Our family will have a hefty load of medically  related costs (including: housing, food, and transportation) and we need anybody who is able and who would like to, to help with a donation.   Please do not feel bad if you cannot afford to help out.  We are also completely and equally thankful for all of your prayers.
