Help Save Sebastian's Life

Introduction:

If you've had the privilege of knowing my son, Sebastian Troy Pierre, you'll remember him for his vibrant creativity and adventurous spirit that radiate from his very being. And if you haven't had the chance to meet him yet, I wish with all my heart that you get the opportunity. Today, I reach out to all of you with a plea for help as Sebastian's life hangs in the balance. We urgently need funds for a life-saving defibrillator and to cover his living expenses during this critical time.

Sebastian's Journey:

Born in England to two young artists, Sebastian was raised by his mother in Jacksonville. His life took a tragic turn when he survived a head injury caused by a car accident in Denver, Colorado, in 2018. Despite this setback, he remained resilient and returned to Jacksonville to pursue his dream of obtaining a commercial driving license (CDL). For two years, he crisscrossed the country, fulfilling his passion for exploration behind the wheel. However, fate dealt him another blow when disaster struck on what was supposed to be a promising day.

Diagnosis and Devastation:

Out of the blue, Sebastian's heart stopped while he was behind the wheel of his truck rig on his first day at a new job. Shockingly, he had no prior history of heart conditions. After three agonizing days at Orange Park Hospital, the diagnosis revealed a genetic and irreversible heart condition called Slow QT syndrome. This condition affects the heart's electrical function and poses an imminent risk of fatality at any moment. Sebastian had no warning signs, and the news devastated him and our entire family. His dreams of driving and the opportunities that lay ahead are now on hold.

Urgent Medical Intervention:

As Sebastian fights for his life, we desperately seek medical intervention to give him a chance at survival. He currently lacks health insurance and does not qualify for worker's compensation, given that this condition was unknown prior to the incident. His perfect driving record is now in question, but the accident was beyond his control and came as a complete shock to us all. Until the moment he underwent an EKG, none of us had any inkling of this ticking time bomb.

Request for Support:

During this heartbreaking time, our family humbly requests your support in raising funds to save Sebastian Troy's life. Your donations will go directly towards life-prolonging medications, as well as the surgical installation of a defibrillator. Additionally, Sebastian will require rehabilitation time and will be unable to drive for a minimum of six months. The weight of this situation feels unbearable for me as his mother, and I can only imagine the fear and uncertainty he is currently experiencing. After just a week of processing this possible death sentence, he had another seizure last night, further jeopardizing his already fragile condition.

Appeal for Help:

I understand the difficulty of asking for assistance, especially in times of great need. Yet, as Sebastian's mother, I am left with no choice but to humbly and urgently request your help. Sebastian has now been fitted with a temporary defibrillator external life vest, closely monitored at the hospital.
