I come to you today to share my journey…

Early In Nov 2022 I was getting ready one morning for work when I felt something off. Sure enough I felt a good sized lump in my right breast. I tried not to panic. I immediately woke up my fiancé and asked him to feel what I was feeling. He suggested it just might be some swelling. Give it a few days and maybe it will go down

I emailed my doctor and the next day she had me come in. Every negative thought ran through my mind. All I could tell myself was “Please, Lord don’t let this be cancer”.
After completing my appointments the next few days were a blur.

On December 1st I got a call at work that no one should ever hear. “Hi is this Jessica?” I knew it wasn’t going to be good news. After I finished the call I immediately requested to go home. I informed my mom to meet me at my house. She knew then it wasn’t good news either.

I will never forget the moment I opened my door and seeing my fiancé and mom standing there. The look on their faces. The fear in their eyes not knowing what I was about to tell them. I just remember looking up at my fiancé and saying “I have cancer “ and just buckled into his arms and cried.

The month of a December was a hard one. We started to slowly share the news with loved ones and telling my siblings was the hardest part. We had informed the Md we were trying to expand our family and luckily for me I was a candidate for IVF. After a brutal few weeks of constant injections I completed my egg retrieval and surgery. That very next day I started chemo and I was also ready to share this horrible news with the rest of my loved ones

The new year came so quickly. I do have to say that I have been very blessed to have loved ones sit by my side during my treatments. My surgery went very well and I am now on my way to start radiation therapy/treatment's

Unfortunately, being off work has its perks and financial setbacks. During this time of healing I have been home with my daughter just trying my best. Though we have had help and support here and there sadly, I have dried up all my resources and now I am seeking help for medical expenses. I will be losing my medical benefits this month. Though I can almost see the finish line I still have a more steps with treatment.

I would appreciate any help in this time of need so that I may keep my health benefits. I also want to thank everyone for all the love and support and that I still have a ways to go but I’m in it to win it! I can not wait to hear the words “Cancer Free” ️♥️

Love, Jessica marie & Family
